Thinking about adding decking to your garden in Town End? The material, the design and the finish all shape how long it lasts and how much it asks of you. We build custom softwood, hardwood and composite decking for homeowners across Town End and the surrounding Cambridgeshire villages, each one designed around the space it sits in.
How we install decking in Town End
Detail is what turns a flat platform into a proper outdoor room. We can build in planters, seating, lighting, steps and balustrades, designing these features into the deck from the start so everything fits together and works as one considered space rather than a set of add-ons.
A deck is only as good as the structure underneath it, so every one we build starts with a sound, properly built frame and supports. That is what keeps the surface level, stable and safe to walk on for years, rather than sagging or flexing once the weather gets to it.
Signs you might need Decking in Town End
- You want separate zones for dining and seating linked together across the garden.
- Your lawn is uneven or sloping, and raised or multi-level decking would give you a flat, usable surface.
- You are choosing between the low upkeep of composite and the character of natural timber.
- You want to make the most of a garden view with a raised deck that lifts you above the lawn.
- You want to build in features like seating, planters, lighting or steps rather than bolt them on later.
Driveway & Decking Co. are a family-run team with over 30 years of experience, fully insured and backing every deck with our quality guarantee. Call us for a free, no-obligation quote and see what we can do for your Town End garden.

Cannot recommend these guys enough. James, Ross, George and John all done an amazing job transforming my driveway and patio. Professional from the outset with a final finish that impresses everyone that sees it, that will last years to come!
We had our driveway done this year and they did a fantastic job. I'm really happy with the outcome. I would recommend this company.
Had these guys do my garden from a recommendation. They have done a fantastic job . My garden now looks amazing. Anyone who's thinking of having a garden makeover or a new drive I highly recommend this company. 10/10
Fantastic team, professional but friendly. They have done a brilliant job on our front drive a few years ago and this year on our back garden, with new decking, imprinted concrete patio and pathway and finished off with a gravel area and turf. They did the whole job from start, clearing the area, working through bad weather where they could and only the recent snow held the job up and only by a couple of days! Definitely recommend 100%. Thanks guys!
Very pleased with our driveway which was completed in January. Communication before the job was great and the work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. Would definitely recommend them for anyone looking to get imprinted concrete work done.
They did a brilliant job on our garden, good value and a great finish. Highly recommend :)

Frequently Asked Questions

- Timber benefits from occasional care to keep its colour and protect it, while composite simply needs cleaning. We offer low-maintenance finishes across our decking, so your Town End deck is easy to look after whichever material you choose.

- Absolutely. We can integrate planters, seating, lighting, steps and balustrades into your design from the start. Building features in rather than adding them later gives your Town End deck a considered, finished look and makes the whole space work together.
- For many Town End homeowners, yes. Composite costs more up front but is low-maintenance and resists fading, rot and warping, and it lasts 25 years or more with proper care. If you want to spend time on the deck rather than maintaining it, it is well worth considering.
- Composite lasts the longest, 25 years or more with proper care, followed by hardwood at 20 years or more and softwood at 10 to 15 years. We help you match material to budget and upkeep at your free Town End consultation.
- We use slip-resistant finishes across our decking and can add grip strips where extra safety is wanted. That keeps your Town End deck safe to use in the wet as well as the dry, which matters through the autumn and winter months.
- Yes. We design raised and multi-level decking to suit uneven or sloping gardens, working with the lie of the land to create a level, usable surface. It is one of the best ways to reclaim an awkward Town End garden.
