Pattern Imprinted Concrete gives homeowners in Coates the look of natural stone, slate, cobbles or brick without the loose joints and constant upkeep. As Cambridgeshire specialists, Driveway & Decking Co. have been laying seamless imprinted concrete driveways, patios and paths since 1990.
How we install pattern imprinted concrete in Coates
Once the concrete is poured, we add colour and press your chosen pattern into the surface while it is still fresh. The result is a seamless, joint-free finish that mimics natural stone, slate, cobbles, brick or timber, without the gaps where weeds and moss usually take hold.
The process is methodical and carried out by one team from start to finish. We excavate the area, lay and compact a solid sub-base, then pour fibre-reinforced concrete to the right depth for the job, usually around 100mm to 125mm for a driveway and 75mm to 100mm for a patio or path.
Signs you might need Pattern Imprinted Concrete in Coates
- Weeds and moss keep pushing up through the joints in your current driveway or patio
- Block pavers or slabs have worked loose, sunk or become a trip hazard
- You want the character of natural stone, slate or cobbles without laying individual units
- Puddles collect on the drive because the current surface drains poorly
- You are planning to sell and want a hard-wearing surface that lifts kerb appeal
Pattern Imprinted Concrete is generally similar in price to good quality tarmac, block paving or Indian sandstone, but its long life and low upkeep make it the more cost-effective choice over time. Get in touch to see what we can do for your Coates home.

Cannot recommend these guys enough. James, Ross, George and John all done an amazing job transforming my driveway and patio. Professional from the outset with a final finish that impresses everyone that sees it, that will last years to come!
We had our driveway done this year and they did a fantastic job. I'm really happy with the outcome. I would recommend this company.
Had these guys do my garden from a recommendation. They have done a fantastic job . My garden now looks amazing. Anyone who's thinking of having a garden makeover or a new drive I highly recommend this company. 10/10
Fantastic team, professional but friendly. They have done a brilliant job on our front drive a few years ago and this year on our back garden, with new decking, imprinted concrete patio and pathway and finished off with a gravel area and turf. They did the whole job from start, clearing the area, working through bad weather where they could and only the recent snow held the job up and only by a couple of days! Definitely recommend 100%. Thanks guys!
Very pleased with our driveway which was completed in January. Communication before the job was great and the work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. Would definitely recommend them for anyone looking to get imprinted concrete work done.
They did a brilliant job on our garden, good value and a great finish. Highly recommend :)

Frequently Asked Questions
- Resealing every 3 to 5 years keeps the surface protected, vibrant and looking like new. If the colour looks pale when dry but fine when wet, it is usually time for a reseal.
- Every site is assessed individually. In most cases we excavate and lay a fresh, compacted sub-base to guarantee durability, rather than pouring over an old surface that may move or fail.
- Most Pattern Imprinted Concrete projects take around 7 to 10 days from start to finish. We excavate, pour and stamp, then allow roughly 7 days for the concrete to cure before sealing.
- With proper care, Pattern Imprinted Concrete can last 20 to 30 years or more. Laid on a compacted sub-base with fibre reinforcement, it is a durable, cost-effective long-term investment for your home.
- Most Pattern Imprinted Concrete installations start from £70 to £100 per m². The final price depends on the size, design and groundwork involved. Driveway & Decking Co. offer a free, no-obligation quote for any Coates project.
- Yes, for most homes. It is seamless and joint-free, so weeds cannot grow through and there are no loose blocks to work free. It is also easier to maintain than block paving.
- Yes. The same seamless, hard-wearing surface works for patios, paths and driveways, and even commercial areas like pub gardens and shopfronts. We can run one continuous finish across your Coates property for a joined-up look.
- No. We finish every surface with a non-slip agent in the sealant, so your driveway, patio or path stays safe to walk on in all weather conditions.
- Usually not. We design drainage into the layout using soakaways or surface run-off so the surface is SUDS-compliant and meets the 2008 regulations, generally avoiding the need for planning permission.
- Yes. Its strength and low upkeep make it ideal for pub gardens, restaurant terraces, shopfronts and public walkways, as well as domestic driveways, patios and paths.
