Softwood, hardwood or composite: the right decking for your Padney garden depends on the look you want, your budget and how much upkeep you are happy with. Driveway & Decking Co. install all three across Padney and the rest of Cambridgeshire, and we help you weigh up the options before a single board is cut.
How we install decking in Padney
Longevity comes down to material and care. With proper upkeep softwood decking lasts around 10 to 15 years, hardwood 20 years or more, and composite 25 years or more. Low-maintenance finishes are available on request, easy to clean and designed to keep your deck looking its best for as long as possible.
A deck is only as good as the structure underneath it, so every one we build starts with a sound, properly built frame and supports. That is what keeps the surface level, stable and safe to walk on for years, rather than sagging or flexing once the weather gets to it.
Signs you might need Decking in Padney
- You want to build in features like seating, planters, lighting or steps rather than bolt them on later.
- You are weighing up the natural warmth of timber against the easy care of composite and want expert advice.
- You need a deck that stands up to the UK climate without warping, rotting or fading over time.
- You have an underused patch of garden in Padney that you would love to turn into a proper space for sitting out.
- You are refreshing your Padney home or garden and want an outdoor room that adds real, lasting appeal.
A well-built deck is an investment in how much you enjoy your own garden, adding usable space and lasting appeal to your Padney home. Speak to our Cambridgeshire team about your project and we will walk you through the material options with no pressure.

Cannot recommend these guys enough. James, Ross, George and John all done an amazing job transforming my driveway and patio. Professional from the outset with a final finish that impresses everyone that sees it, that will last years to come!
We had our driveway done this year and they did a fantastic job. I'm really happy with the outcome. I would recommend this company.
Had these guys do my garden from a recommendation. They have done a fantastic job . My garden now looks amazing. Anyone who's thinking of having a garden makeover or a new drive I highly recommend this company. 10/10
Fantastic team, professional but friendly. They have done a brilliant job on our front drive a few years ago and this year on our back garden, with new decking, imprinted concrete patio and pathway and finished off with a gravel area and turf. They did the whole job from start, clearing the area, working through bad weather where they could and only the recent snow held the job up and only by a couple of days! Definitely recommend 100%. Thanks guys!
Very pleased with our driveway which was completed in January. Communication before the job was great and the work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. Would definitely recommend them for anyone looking to get imprinted concrete work done.
They did a brilliant job on our garden, good value and a great finish. Highly recommend :)
